As outlined in the Bledsoe-Sequatchie Tourism Asset Plan completed by Farmer | Morgan in 2017, the Sequatchie River is a major recreational asset for the City of Dunlap and Sequatchie County as a whole. This project was funded by Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), The Lyndhurst Foundation, and the Riverview Foundation in order to provide easy access to the Sequatchie River for canoes, kayaks, and small motorized boats. Farmer | Morgan provided Conceptual Design services to envision a master plan for future development of a blueway trailhead area to include the boat ramp, parking area, camp sites, picnic tables, small cabins, a pavilion/visitor’s kiosk, fishing dock, and other recreation opportunities. Farmer | Morgan also provided construction documents for Phase I of the Sequatchie River Access Point project to include the boat ramp, entrance/exit drives, and a gravel parking lot. The rest of the conceptual master plan will be implemented in phases in years to come.
