Jaspuneet Kaaur
ASLA, APA
Planner
“Made in India, I come from Le Corbusier’s planned city, “Chandigarh,” and when I was sensible enough (after obtaining my first design degree) I became interested in how cities form and grow. I am a bit of a nerd, but mostly I am high on life and can be found giggling or laughing in the quietest of places! I love to dance - it’s a breather AND a perfect excuse to blast my woofers!
I like to think of myself as a worker bee, quite literally, because in my free time I am diligently drawing minuscule patterns in pen and ink as backgrounds for my mixed media paintings. If I somehow convince myself to step out then I find the landscape architect taking over photographing trees, their leaves, bark, and stems!
I live to experiment, and my recent ones are toying with paper to pull origami stunts, getting entangled with crochet, and buying specialty produce to make perfect dumplings- unicorns! I love challenges – they fuel me. The minute someone says you can’t do something a certain way a light goes on in my head setting my nerdy self on a mission to find a way to make it work and prove them wrong!
