Dunlap, TN is located near the center of Sequatchie Valley, a long and narrow valley stretching like a 65-mile (105 km) gash in the Cumberland Plateau in southeastern Tennessee and northeastern Alabama. The plateau's western Sequatchie Valley escarpment, known locally as "Fredonia Mountain," rises over 1,000 feet (300 m) above the valley just west of Dunlap. The Sequatchie River forms the city's southeastern boundary.
The Greenways Master Plan project will provide an interconnected system of paths and walkways that will link several key destinations within the city. With over 13 continuous miles anticipated, residents and visitors will be able to move about the city on bicycle or on foot and experience the wealth of beauty and natural scenery that make the valley a special place.
