The Coops Creek Greenway project consists of an 8’ wide hard surfaced ADA-compliant multi-use walking and biking trail that provides a safe and adequate corridor for pedestrians and bicyclists from the Coops Creek Bridge northward along Coops Creek to the Sequatchie County Courthouse, located at the intersection of Cherry Street and Spring Street in downtown Dunlap, Tennessee. The project also features two ADA accessible bridges, benches, waste receptacles, retaining wall, and pedestrian/bicycle traffic signage. The traffic along Rankin Avenue is very congested as pedestrians have no safe route that links the downtown and neighborhoods with the restaurants and shops in south Dunlap. The corridor connects Dunlap’s natural beauty to the downtown central business district to stimulate economic growth, enhance community character, and improve quality of life.
