Dunlap Industrial Park Access Road
Dunlap, TN
Year:
2017
Funding:
Appalachia Regional Commission (ARC)
Budget:
$200,000
The Dunlap Industrial Access Road project was funded by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to support site development efforts in preparation for new industry for the Dunlap Industrial Park. The 33-acre park is located just west of U.S. 127/Rankin Avenue between Industrial Park Road and Tram Trail within the park. The site is the location of the old Tecumseh manufacturing facility (a 200,000 sq. ft. warehouse that was previously used for engine manufacturing) and will now be used by Precision Military Aerodynamics, LLC, a military canopy and parachute manufacturing company. The Dunlap Industrial Development Board (IDB) received the funding to make the site suitable for the new company, with infrastructure upgrades to include a new industrial access road. The existing entrance road provides limited access to the front of the building. The new access road will be constructed to be able to access the building and withstand loads associated with industrial uses, with 4” of asphalt and 12” of base stone. Construction includes site work, excavation and erosion control, demolition, clearing and grubbing, asphalt surface and gravel subbase, 40 linear feet of concrete pipe culvert, 16 linear feet of concrete headwall, and 63 linear feet of 6” concrete curb.
Farmer | Morgan. LLC provided A&E design services and CEI, as well as grant development assistance for the project.
