DURA Industrial Building - Roof Replacement

The City of Pikeville, DURA Industrial Building - Roof Replacement Project began with the city acquiring the building from bankruptcy to then market the structure for job creation.  After acquisition the city began to undertake upgrades on the 104,000 square foot industrial structure that included roof replacement.  It was anticipated by the project team at that time that 30% to 40% of the 104,000 square foot area would be renovated or replaced within the budget.  The City of Pikeville ultimately gave the project management to the Farmer | Morgan team and the firm served project prime for design and Construction Management as CM-Agent.  The project is 100% complete with the full tear off of the existing three layers of roof taking more than 3,400 cubic yards of material offsite.  The roof has been fully replaced with 1.5” polyisocyanurate insulation and a .60 millimeter TPO single ply roof that carries a 20 year warranty from the Carlisle Corporation.  The firm has just recently informed the city leadership that there is $12,000.00 left on the $500,000.00 budget to be retained by the City of Pikeville for other project uses.
