The Monteagle Pedestrian Enhancement Project consists of developing roughly 1350 linear feet, that consists of 6’ wide sidewalk and 3’ wide grass strip containing street trees, accessible curb ramps, crosswalks, and drainage improvements. This project serves as a connector for the Town of Monteagle as it connects to the existing sidewalks along Main Street, past the Monteagle Town Hall, and terminating at Sampley Street, where the Monteagle Pedestrian Corridor Extension will pick up to connect to the Wilco-Hess Truck Stop at the I-24 exit ramp. This project resolved drainage issues near Town Hall by integrating additional catch basins, pipes, and grass swales to ensure positive drainage away from the Right-of-Way. This project provides a pedestrian connection along Main Street, which should serve to encourage development along the major commercial corridor in Monteagle.
