Each of these components will be evaluated through analysis of intrinsic qualities used to identify, understand and evaluate the area’s local and regional assets. These qualities include - scenic, natural, historic, cultural, archaeological, and recreational qualities.

The study provided the framework for developing a series of tourism development concepts that illuminate the unique qualities of the Sequatchie Valley and the Cumberland Plateau, revealing glimpses of the river valley lifestyle, and making it more accessible to residents and visitors alike. With a growing number of travelers seeking remote places of distinct beauty, the Sequatchie- Bledsoe Tourism Asset Development Plan represents an opportunity for economic development that is place-based, and locally sustainable.
